Every country has stories like that. Whether they’re myths or true, they stay with you, making you wonder if they’re really true.
As I discovered more of these stories, I wanted to do something with them. Not just admire them, but to retell them in a way that feels alive and personal.
That’s why I started MAMAN AGNÈS.
Not just to make scarves, but to turn these stories into something you can wear. Each design is inspired by a real place, a true story, or a feeling. When you wear one, you are not just wearing silk. You are carrying meaning and culture. .
I believe the things we wear should mean something. And if you feel the same,
Long ago in southern Italy, people believed that a tarantula's bite caused a strange illness, mostly in women. To cure it, the sick danced the Tarantella—spinning, stomping, and moving faster with the music, shaking off the poison, until it was gone. Over time, this dance—the Tarantella—became a tradition, no longer a cure but a celebration.
This legend inspired CHAPTER 1: ITALY for MAMAN AGNÈS, celebrating how a simple belief turned into something lasting—just like the stories we tell through silk. With each scarf, a legend is carried forward, kept alive in a new way.
A story woven in silk. Made for you.
